Must Read Tips for Adventure Vacations

September 23, 2019 //  by Victoria//  Leave a Comment

If your ideal vacation involves taking part in action packed adventures such as abseiling, rock climbing, surfing and camping, make sure to continue reading in order to discover a few helpful tips which were designed for adventurous travellers.

Must Read Tips for Adventure Vacations:

Hire a local guide if you plan on hiking in a potentially dangerous area:

Even if you’re a seasoned hiker or climber, it’s always well worth booking the professional services of a professional guide as they’ll be well aware of all the distinct challenges and hazards of the area which you plan to explore. As an added bonus, most professional guides have a wealth of knowledge about the parks which they guide tourists through. So they’ll be able to answer any questions that you may have about the area which you choose to explore.

Always make sure that you have enough daylight left to complete your adventures:

As an example, it’s never a smart idea to set off for a long hike two hours before sun fall as if you get lost, you may find it difficult to find your way back to your carpark in an unfamiliar area. Worse yet, you’ll be far more likely to be involved in an accident, if you try to explore unfamiliar terror ties after dusk.

Always pack a sarong or a travel sized towel:

A sarong can be used as a makeshift blanket on long car rides, train rides or plane rides and can also be used to cover your car’s windows if you need to get changed in your car after a spontaneous swim or surfing session. You can also use a sarong in order to cover up your legs or shoulders if you’d like to tour a traditional temple or church which requires individuals to dress modestly.

Purchase a water bottle which can filter water:

While you should never drink water from a stream that come across or from a tap, unless you know that the water is safe to drink, it’s a wise idea to purchase a water bottle which can filter your water for you. As if you find yourself in an emergency situation where you need to drink water to survive, you’ll be able to use your water bottle to try and filter your water.

Boil water in foreign countries before you drink it:

Alternatively if you don’t trust the water in a foreign country, such as a third world country and can’t get your hands on bottled water, your best bet may be to boil your water before you drink it. In order to avoid getting seriously sick.

Tell someone before you head out for to explore a hiking track or national park:

Make sure to tell someone such as your hotel’s reception staff the time which you plan to be back from your adventure. As if you don’t return back to your hotel in time, they’ll be able to inform the police. So that a rescue team can be dispatched to try and locate you.

So if you prefer hiking, paddle boarding, surfing and mountain biking to lounging by a pool or shopping for souvenirs, make sure to keep all of the tips listed above in mind.
